ABOUT US
STYLE FOR THREE GENERATIONS
1949
Clemens Wirschke opened his first store in Berlin Charlottenburg.
1949
Three years later we moved to Düsseldorf. Graf-Adolf-Straße 44 was to become the new home of our family business.
1954
When expanding the range to include classic men's fashion in 1954, C.Wirschke placed the emphasis on Italian fashion designers right from the start. Klemens Wirschke was one of the first to bring Italian brands such as Salfra, Bergamo and Caesar to Germany. In the same year, C.Wirschke opened another branch in Westerland on Sylt.
1965
Klemens Wirschke moves into the business premises at the sought-after Königsallee 80. He develops the elegant salon into a magnet for customers far beyond the borders of Düsseldorf.
1972
C.Wirschke opens another fashion store for men's items in Westerland. With a concept for a younger target group, Clemens Wirschke once again demonstrates his foresight and makes an innovative statement in relation to the classic men's outfitter.
1973
After extensive redesign and an expansion of the store space, the fashion store reopens at Königsallee 80. The newly designed premises enable Clemens Wirschke to push ahead with his innovative consulting strategy and develop it into his trademark: According to the mix-and-match principle, the range is made up of perfectly coordinated fashion items that are presented twice a week in changing combinations. The "Wirschke principle" becomes the unique selling point that makes the fashion store unique in Düsseldorf: an outfit is more than the sum of individual items of clothing. Fashion is the skillful game of combinations, styles and trends. A game whose rules C.Wirschke masters like no other.
1974
Clemens Wirschke opens the "Emilio Pucci" boutique in the Kö-Center, where the entire collection of the Italian fashion designer is presented. The opening, at which Pucci himself is present, is a major event in the fashion city of Düsseldorf and is broadcast live by ZDF. Along with another Pucci boutique in Munich, which belongs to the designer himself, C.Wirschke is the exclusive point of contact for Pucci fashion in Germany at this time.
1976
Relocation of the main branch from Königsallee to Steinstraße 2, a more frequented part of the shopping mile.
1979
Clemens Wirschke opens the first Chanel boutique in Germany in his house to present the French luxury brand's complete prêt-à-porter range. In the same year, Gabriella Wirschke joins the business and runs the company together with her husband. As a native of Rome, she brings Italian liveliness and an authentic feel for Italian fashion and lifestyle to the company.
